13. Michael Carter, North Carolina
Carter’s career numbers are superb: 3,404 rushing yards, over 4,000 yards from scrimmage and 28 total touchdowns. In each of his final two seasons (2019-20), which coincided with the start of Mack Brown 2.0 in Chapel Hill, Carter ran for 1,000+ yards, while platooning with Javonte Williams.
During the 2020 season, Carter ran for 1,245 yards, which translated to 113.2 yards per game, both of which were No. 1 in the ACC. That year, Carter became just the sixth FBS player since 2000 — along with USC’s Reggie Bush — to record: 100+ rush attempts, average 8.0 yards per carry, 20+ receptions and average 10.0 yards per catch.
