17. Ricky Proehl, Wake Forest
Before a 17-year NFL career, Proehl took to the skies in Winston-Salem as one of the ACC’s top players of the 1980s. Proehl improved each and every year at Wake Forest, culminating with a brilliant 1989 season: 1,053 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 65 catches (16.2 yards per catch).
Proehl’s college career finished in 1989, yet he remains the all-time leader in receiving yards for the program: 2,949 yards. His 188 receptions are the third most ever for a Demon Deacon.
