12. Georgia Tech
Following another 3-win season, Geoff Collins enters the 2022 campaign with a cumulative record of 9-25 (.265) with the Yellow Jackets. During his tenure, Georgia Tech has won a total of seven conference games.
Collins has achieved some marginal success on the recruiting trail; however, it hasn’t been enough to climb out of a difficult hole in Atlanta. Things got worse this offseason, too, with the departure of ace recruiter Tashard Choice and star running back Jahmyr Gibbs, now at Alabama.
This could be a make-or-break year for quarterback Jeff Sims, a former 4-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. Sims has shown flashes of potential with Tech, but it’s been tough to sustain. Meanwhile, the turnovers are plentiful. Sims will battle Clemson transfer Taisun Phommachanh, another former 4-star recruit, for the starting job.
