Pitt moves forward without its two top players from last season: Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Kenny Pickett and Biletnikoff Award winner wideout Jordan Addison, now at USC. However, the oddsmakers still like this roster.
The Panthers still project as a Top 30-35 defense and, with the addition of USC transfer quarterback Kedon Slovis, a Top 20 offense. That feels a little optimistic, unless Slovis is able to regain his original form from USC.
Regardless, this is a good team with lots of talent on both sides of the ball. The Panthers will take a step back, but it may not be a big one.
