Duke offers 5-star 2022 wing Caleb Houstan

Caleb Houstan, one of the top prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, has been contacted by Duke.

Rated the No. 4 small forward in the 2022 class via 247 Sports, the 6-foot-8 Houstan in a consensus top 10 prospect.

According to a recent blog post from Houstan at SI All-American, an influx of programs reached out following the June 15 deadline. College coaches are now allowed to directly contact 2020 prospects, like Houston.

I heard from schools like Duke, Alabama, Arkansas, Gonzaga, Michigan State and Arizona and they all offered me. It was my first time talking to all of the coaches and it was great just getting to know them and getting to know more about the schools

A native of Canada, Houstan made a name for himself this season on the stacked Montverde Academy squad; Houstan helped push Montverde (Fla.) to a 35-0 record along with 2020 5-stars Cade Cunningham, Scottie Barnes, Day’Ron Sharpe and Moses Moody.

During the summer of 2019, Houstan also averaged 22.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the U-16 Canadian National team.

Several other prominent programs have also offered Houstan, including Virginia, Gonzaga, Michigan and Tennessee.

Duke last landed a player from Montverde in the 2018 cycle: power guard RJ Barrett.
