It’s time for another trip around the ACC football merry-go-round with Florida State football. According to the league, the Florida State-Duke game, which was scheduled for next Saturday (Dec. 5), will no longer be played.
Duke (2-7, 1-7 ACC), however, won’t have the week off; the ACC will now have Miami (7-1, 6-1 ACC) travel to Durham to play against the Blue Devils. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.

After recent rescheduling efforts, Miami was set to play Wake Forest on Dec. 5. However, that game was postponed on Saturday due to positive COVID-19 cases in the Wake Forest program.
This marks the third straight FSU (2-6, 1-6 ACC) game that’s been called off. Two Saturdays ago, the matchup with Clemson was technically postponed when both teams’ medical personnel were “unable to mutually agree on moving forward with the game.” Long story short: a Clemson offensive lineman tested positive for COVID-19 and Dabo Swinney got really angry.
One week later, on the day of the game, the Florida State-Virginia contest was called off, too. This time the COVID-19 issues came from within the FSU program: positive tests, subsequent quarantining and contact tracing. That game will be made up on Dec. 19.
In both instances, Clemson and Virginia had already traveled to Tallahassee for the game, before needing to return home without playing.
