Dabo Swinney on Clemson QB situation: “I love Kelly; he did everything, above and beyond, that was ever asked of him”

It’s been a wild week for No. 4 Clemson. After a blowout win at Georgia Tech, the Tigers of Dabo Swinney dominated the college football headlines. Freshman star Trevor Lawrence was named the starter at quarterback, usurping Kelly Bryant — who skipped practice twice, then elected to transfer.

In the team’s first game without Bryant, Swinney and Clemson saw Lawrence injured in the second quarter against Syracuse. If not for a feverous rally, and some heroics from Travis Etienne, Clemson wouldn’t have survived a scare from Syracuse behind Chase Brice, previously the third string quarterback.

Next up for Clemson is Wake Forest but, before that, Trevor Lawrence cleared the concussion protocol, and returned to practice on Monday (Oct. 1). To discuss all of that — and much more — Dabo Swinney joined the David Glenn Show on Tuesday.
