5-star C Moussa Cisse to reclassify to 2020; FSU is an option

According to a report from Jonathan Givony of ESPN, 5-star center Moussa Cisse will reclassify (from 2021) to the 2020 recruiting class. This is potentially significant recruiting news for Leonard Hamilton and Florida State.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound Cisse is a top 10 prospect in the 2021 class. Cisse plans to pick his program for the 2020-21 season from a list of six schools: FSU, Kentucky, Memphis, Georgia, LSU and Georgetown. Earlier this year, in January, Cisse took an official visit to Florida State. That’s the only official visit Cisse was able to take this season.

After spending most of his childhood in Guinea, Cisse moved to the United State in Dec. 2015. During the summer of 2019, Cisse moved to Memphis to attend and play for Lausanne Collegiate School. During the 2019-20 season, Cisse averaged 18.4 points, 15.3 rebounds and 9.2 blocks per game while winning a state title.

A former soccer player, Cisse is ready to make an immediate impact on the defensive end, thanks in part to his 7-foot-4 wingspan. Cisse led the Nike EYBL last season in blocks, while finishing second in rebounds.

Cisse told ESPN that he plans to announce his college decision sometime next week.

If Cisse commits to FSU, he’ll join a class that includes 5-star small forward Scottie Barnes. Barnes will arrive to FSU as arguably the top NBA prospect in the ACC, along with Duke’s Jalen Johnson.
