Pittsburgh running back Rachid Ibrahim will miss the 2015 season with an Achilles tendon injury, head coach Pat Narduzzi announced on Wednesday. The junior was projected to be third on the depth chart going into the fall.
Ibrahim has played in all of the Panthers’ games the last two seasons after arriving as part of the 2013 signing class. A year ago, he rushed for 263 yards on eight yards per carry and caught 11 passes for 73 yards.
With Ibrahim sidelined, freshman Darrin Hall could see some action in the backfield. A consensus 4-star recruit, Hall is one of the most touted players in Pitt’s incoming freshman class.
