With loads of high school football talent in its own backyard, Pitt can often build a chunk of its recruiting class just by winning recruiting battles in its own city. On Monday, the Panthers won another one of those battles when 2016 defensive tackle Rashad Wheeler made his call.
“Beyond blessed to say that I have officially committed to my hometown school Pitt,” Wheeler announced via his personal Twitter account.
Wheeler is the third prospect from Pittsburgh to commit to the Panthers this cycle, joining defensive back Bricen Garner and offensive lineman Brandon Ford.
