According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Pittsburgh is expected to hire Scott Barnes as its new athletic director on Friday. Barnes has served in the same position at Utah State since 2008.
The Aggies’ men’s basketball team made the NCAA tournament in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and the football team has posted a 37-17 record over the last four seasons, reaching a bowl game each of those years.
Former Panther athletic director Steve Pederson stepped down in December following Paul Chryst’s departure for Wisconsin.
