Pitt and Tennessee will face one another on the gridiron in 2021 and 2022, the schools announced Wednesday. Tennessee will host the first game of the home-and-home series on Sept. 11, 2021, and the second game will be played in Pittsburgh on Sept. 10, 2022.
The Panthers lead the all-time series 2-0, with wins over the Volunteers in 1980 and 1983. Both of those games were played in Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
Tennessee is Pitt’s only scheduled nonconference opponent after 2020. The Volunteers are also the only SEC foes the Panthers are currently slated to face in the next seven seasons.
