UNC basketball’s MOP Joel Berry expected to miss 4 weeks

On Monday, the University of North Carolina announced that star point guard Joel Berry will miss the next four weeks: “Joel Berry II will miss approximately four weeks due to a broken bone in his right hand.”

Berry averaged 14.7 points and 3.6 assists last season, and is one of college basketball’s top three-point shooters.

In his absence, UNC may have to rely on speedy sophomore guard Seventh Woods, who has plenty of room to improve. Theo Pinson will also need to increase his playmaking duties, too. Freshman Jalek Felton, a top 30 recruit, could see an increase in minutes as well.
