Naheem McLeod officially rejoins class, FSU up to No. 1 in 2021 rankings

As has been expected for several months now, Naheem McLeod has officially joined Florida State basketball’s 2021 recruiting class. This development, along with the commitment from 4-star center John Butler, has vaulted FSU’s class up to No. 1 in 247 Sports 2021 team rankings.

The 7-foot-3 McLeod, a 3-star prospect, initially signed with FSU in the 2019 class. McLeod went on to enroll at Florida State last August; however, he “did not meet the NCAA requirements for enrollment,” according to an FSU spokesman in September.

Subsequently, McLeod enrolled at Chipola Community College, and on Thursday he re-committed to Florida State. McLeod will have three years of eligibility remaining when he arrives back to Tallahassee.

Florida State’s 2021 class is headlined, though, by 5-star shooting guard Matthew Cleveland, who committed last week. This trio joins Bryce McGowens, a 4-star 2021 wing who committed to FSU over Clemson back in February.

It’s safe to say Florida, as usual, will have plenty of size on that 2021-22 team. With McLeod and the 7-foo-1 Butler joining the program, promising sophomore center Balsa Koprivica, another 7-footer, will only be entering his junior season that year, too.
