Miami football stayed local with a commitment from Deshawn Troutman.
Troutman, who is from Miami, is a 3-star inside linebacker in the 2021 recruiting cycle. 247 Sports rates Troutman as a top 1,000 prospect and the No. 32 ILB in the class.
While Troutman hails from Miami, he plays prep ball for Edgewater HS in Orlando. Troutman also received offers from Florida State, Louisville, Minnesota and Kansas State, among others.
Troutman is the 14th commit in Miami’s 2021 recruiting class, which ranks 13th nationally, per 247 Sports. Of that group, 13 of the 14 players are in-state prospects. Only one commit — 4-star Texas tight end Elijah Arroyo — comes from outside the state of Florida. Arroyo committed to Miami earlier in May, too.
