For the second time this week, Clemson football has a 2021 commitment. On Thursday afternoon, 3-star quarterback Bubba Chandler committed to Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.
Chandler, a 3-star prospect from Bogart, Georgia, initially committed to play baseball at Georgia. However, two weeks ago, Clemson offered him a football scholarship. Days after that offer, Chandler de-committed from UGA and re-opened his recruitment.
Clemson was the first major program to offer Chandler, too. Up to this point, his other football offers were from Charlotte, Western Kentucky, Elon, Troy and Mercer.
Chandler plans to play both football and baseball at Clemson.
I’m grateful for this opportunity! God has truly blessed me! I can not thank the people who have supported me through this enough!
With that being said I’m 1000% committed for Football and Baseball to Clemson University!!#ALLIN💜🧡 Joshua 1:9 pic.twitter.com/7id9ugs7P2

During his junior season in 2019, Chandler threw for 2,098 yards, completing 167-of-220 attempts, with 27 touchdowns. Chandler also ran for four touchdowns, too.
The 6-foot-4 Chandler is the 12 commit in Clemson’s 2021 recruiting class, which ranks No. 3 nationally. Earlier this week, the Tigers landed a commitment from 4-star linebacker Barrett Carter. Five of the 12 commits in Clemson’s class are from the state of Georgia.
Dabo Swinney is the best talent evaluator in CFB.
He offered a QB with no stars and Clemson was that QB's first offer. Now he has a bunch. That QB, Bubba Chandler, is committing today. https://t.co/QObQXU5NpA
