4. Tyler Van Dyke, Miami
Given his incredible talent, Tyler Van Dyke can make a case for being the ACC’s top QB entering the 2022 season. During his true freshman year in 2021, Van Dyke took over for the injured D’Eriq King; he threw for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and only six interceptions, while completing 62.3 percent of his passes.
Van Dyke averaged 9.0 yards per pass attempt, which led the ACC. The 6-foot-4 Van Dyke averaged 293.1 passing yards per game, which was the third most among FBS freshmen. Unsurprisingly, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud led that category: 369.5 yards per game.
However, those numbers undersell what Van Dyke accomplished down the stretch. Over the final six games of the season, Van Dyke threw for 300+ yards and 3+ touchdowns in each contest.
