Pitt looking to add to loaded backfield?

Running back depth became an issue for Pitt early in 2015 as two ball-carriers suffered season-ending setbacks, while others were hampered by more minor injuries. The Panthers enter 2016 in excellent shape at the position, though, and the coaching staff is looking to add more talent to the backfield.

Class of 2017 running back Malik Davis is now on the wish list after picking up an offer from Pitt on Sunday. He announced the news of the offer on Twitter:

A native of Tampa, Fla., Davis is ranked the No. 59 running back in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Per MaxPreps, he rushed for 2,337 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior at Jesuit High School last fall.

Davis also claims ACC offers from Miami, North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
