Pitt continues its hard push for 2017 gridiron talents

Heading into the final weeks of the regular season, Pitt has 16 commitments in its 2017 football recruiting class. That’s two-thirds the size of last year’s 24-man class. Pat Narduzzi and his staff have been more selective in this cycle, targeting specific positions rather than adding an abundance of young talent.

This year’s class won’t end up with as many signees, but there’s quality in the 2017 group. The headliners include 4-star in-state defensive back Paris Ford, as well as Ohio running back Todd Sibley, whom the Panthers plucked away from Ohio State.

As National Signing Day approaches, Pitt needs more help along the defensive line — the program’s top remaining positional need — while also getting some additional talent in the secondary.
