NC State lands OT Charlie Symonds, adds to list of commits on the offensive side of the pack

Darion Rivers — OT; Charlotte, NC

Before the commitment from Symonds, NC State already had another high-level offensive tackle prospect in the fold: Darion Rivers.

Rivers, a 3-star recruit, plays his prep ball for West Charlotte (NC) High. Currently, Rivers ranks as as the No. 448 prospect in the 2023 class, overall, and a Top 20 prospect in North Carolina. Obviously, Rivers is big — 6-foot-6, 255 pounds — but he clearly has room to fill out his frame.

As NC State, led by Doeren and Garrison, continues to establish itself as a player development destination for offensive lineman, guys like Rivers and Symonds make a lot of sense. There’s the framework of a very productive player here — one that will need time to develop in Raleigh.
