Back in early April, Javonte Vereen committed to NC State, too. The Wolfpack won out over Louisville and Maryland. Since then, Vereen’s stock has continued to climb. 247 Sports ranks Vereen as a Top 10 prospect in North Carolina, a Top 15 tight end in the 2023 class and a Top 250 prospect overall.
The 4-star tight end is just the latest high-end prospect to emerge from Havelock, one of the top high school football programs in the state.
