Carlik Jones headed to professional ranks, will sign with agent

Carlik Jones, one of the best guards in the ACC, will not return for the 2021-22 season at Louisville. Head coach Chris Mack has confirmed that Jones will sign with an agent and start his professional basketball career.

The former Big South Player of the Year was brilliant during his one season with Louisville. An All-ACC selection, Jones averaged 16.8 points, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. A wizard with the basketball in his hands, Jones finished second in the ACC in pick-and-roll scoring, behind Miami’s Isaiah Wong, per Synergy Sports.

Louisville now has an extra scholarship available for next season; there are lots of possibilities here. However, Louisville also landed Marshall transfer point guard Jarrod West, another veteran guard with plenty of pick-and-roll experience.
