It’s been a challenging offseason for Kevin Stallings and Pitt basketball. After a mass exodus of talent from last year’s squad, including a messy situation with UNC-bound Cameron Johnson, Pitt needed some good news.
Stallings and the Panthers got that good news on June 15, as Sharpsburg, Maryland power forward Bryce Golden pledged to Pitt. The No. 105 overall prospect in the class of 2018 in the 247Sports Composite, Golden chose Pitt in a statement on social media.
“I firmly believe in what Coach Stallings is building, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Golden stated in a Tweet declaring his intention to commit to Pitt.
Golden, who chose the Panthers over additional offers from Penn State, Xavier, Clemson, Maryland, Davidson, and Texas Tech, is Pitt’s first 2018 pledge.
