While speaking with assembled media members on a Monday Zoom call, Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente heeded caution. Virginia Tech has yet to play a game this season due to COVID-19; NC State had to postpone the opener against the Hokies, which was moved to Sept. 26.
Then two Saturdays ago, Virginia Tech was forced to postpone the Sept. 19 matchup with Virginia — also COVID-related. (That game will now take place on Dec. 12.)
However, with the NC State game less than a week away, Fuente expressed concern over the health of his roster. Fuente said he’s not trying to raise false alarm, but this is now certainly a situation to monitor.
Fuente on this weekend's game vs. NC State: "We will not have a full roster. I hope we're able to play." Notes that the #Hokies still have three more COVID-19 tests this week.
