With commitments from 5-star center Armando Bacot and 3-star guard Jeremiah Francis, North Carolina already has the base for a strong 2019 recruiting class. However, one of UNC’s top targets — 5-star power forward Matthew Hurt — is set to take an official visit to Chapel Hill this weekend, too.
This visit, of course, overlaps with North Carolina’s matchup with No. 4 Gonzaga.

The relationship between Roy Williams and Hurt extends back nearly three years, as Inside Carolina notes. UNC offered Hurt a scholarship back during the summer of 2016; the 6-foot-9 power forward, a top-10 prospect in the 2019 class, has visited Chapel Hill before — 2015 and the fall of 2017.
A month after this trip to UNC, Hurt will take his official visit to Duke — the weekend of Jan. 19. That’s the weekend Virginia will be in Durham to take on Duke.
