On the final day of the 2021 Early Signing Period, Mario Cristobal and Miami made a big move. Jaleel Skinner, a top-100 prospect in the class, flipped by Alabama to Miami.
Skinner, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound tight end, plays his prep ball for the famed IMG Academy in Bradenton.
There have been plenty of surprises this week in college football — just ask Mike Norvell — but this development is another shocker, of sorts. It’s a testament to Cristobal, a powerful recruiter, and assistant staffer Stephen Field.

Skinner ranks as the No. 3 tight end in the 2022 class, per 247 Sports. The Hurricanes now have three signatures from top-100 prospects: Skinner, cornerback Khamauri Rogers and defensive lineman Nyjalik Kelly.
