The first AP Top 25 poll of the 2018 season is out. Once again, at the top, is Alabama, the defending national champs. This is the third straight season Alabama has started the season No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll.
Right behind the Tide, though: No. 2 Clemson, which received 18 first place votes. Clemson is one of four ACC teams to land to land in the AP Poll — just like the initial Coaches Poll, too.

- No. 8 Miami
- No. 19 Florida State
- No. 20 Virginia Tech
