Sophomore Terrel Hunt will start at quarterback for Syracuse on Saturday against Tulane in the Carrier Dome.
Orange coach Scott Shafer gave Hunt the nod on Monday during an interview posted on the school’s web site. It will be Hunt’s first career start.
Hunt spurred Syracuse (1-2) to its first win of the season on Saturday, guiding five first-half touchdown drives to carry the Orange to a 54-0 rout of FCS foe Wagner at home. He completed 15 of 18 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns.
Including Syracuse’s loss at Northwestern the previous week, Hunt has quarterbacked seven drives this season and has engineered touchdowns on all of them.
Shafer also said Drew Allen, who started the first three games, would see action against the Green Wave.
