Report: Gross out as Syracuse AD

Syracuse athletic director Daryl Gross has resigned, according to Dave Tobin of Syracuse.com. His resignation comes 12 days after the NCAA announced sanctions it would impose on the Orange for academic improprieties, illegal benefits accepted by athletes and drug policy violations.

Despite stepping down as athletic director, Gross will reportedly remain employed by the university in another position.

Gross’ resignation will mark the end of his 10-year tenure at Syracuse. A formal announcement is expected later Wednesday.
