Ross decommits from Miami, another likely to follow

For Ahman Ross, the decision to decommit from the University of Miami football team was an intensely humbling situation. For the Miami coaches, the decision is the first of what should be more signs that they’re aiming much higher than status quo. And for Miami analysts and fans, it’s a sign that they’re going after a higher level of player.

Of his decision, Ross wrote, “After careful consideration and discussing it with my parents, I’ve made the decision to decommit from the University of Miami. I want this to be clear there are no hard feelings and I want to thank the Miami coaching staff. I feel this is the best decision for me at this time. I want to explore all of my options and give other schools consideration. To all media sources, please respect my decision not to discuss this matter. Thank you”. Ross is a three-star safety from Jacksonville. He’s rated No. 42 among safeties in the 2017 class by the 247Sports composite ratings.
