Miami expects Stephen Morris to play when the 15th-ranked Hurricanes visit winless South Florida on Saturday.
Morris was knocked out of Miami’s 77-7 win over Savannah State in the first quarter with a lower right leg injury. It was originally thought to be a sprained ankle, though coach Al Golden said Sunday that it subsequently was diagnosed as a bone bruise.
Morris was in Miami’s training room on Sunday for treatment. Golden says he “absolutely” thinks Morris will play this weekend.
Golden expects that Morris may be limited when Miami (3-0) practices Monday, though is hoping to have him fully ready by Tuesday’s workout.
Morris’ backups, Ryan Williams and Gray Crow, completed 17 of 19 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns in the Savannah State win.
