Appalachian State announced last Tuesday that it has scheduled a home-and-home series against Miami. The first half of that series will be played in Boone, North Carolina, next September, while the second matchup will take place in Coral Gables in 2021.
The two programs have never met on the gridiron.
Playing its second season at the FBS level, Appalachian State sits at 9-2 this year with a 6-1 record in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers’ only losses this season have been to No. 1 Clemson and eventual Sun Belt champion Arkansas State.
The Hurricanes are also scheduled to face Florida A&M, Notre Dame and Florida Atlantic next season. Miami will host the Rattlers and the Owls but will travel to South Bend in October to play the Fighting Irish.
