There’s a good reason Miami coach Al Golden missed Wednesday’s ACC Conference call.
Linebacker Marques Gayot suffered a neck injury in a team period at practice and was transported to Ryder Trauma Center. He has undergone a battery of tests and will be kept overnight for precaution. He will be placed in a neck collar and released tomorrow morning. He is expected to make a full recovery.
It’s too early to tell when Gayot will return. Miami is off this weekend. He has seven tackles, including 2.5 for losses. The Hurricanes can’t lose many other linebackers. That’s one of the thinnest positions on this team.
