The majority of Miami’s targets in the 2017 recruiting class hail from the state of Florida, and on Tuesday, the Hurricanes landed another in-state player.
According to multiple reports, Billy Gibson is the latest player to give his verbal commitment to Mark Richt’s staff. The 6-1, 185-pound safety is the second player to pledge to the Hurricanes in the last week, as athlete Christopher Henderson joined the program’s 2017 group last Friday.
A native of Hialeah, Gibson attends Miami Southridge High School. He is rated the No. 119 junior in Florida, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
