Miami adds two to 2016 class

Mark Richt and his newly hired staff have only had a few weeks to finalize Miami’s 2016 recruiting class, but in the last week, they’ve landed two more in-state prospects.

Defensive back Malek Young pledged to the Hurricanes on Jan. 15. The Coconut Creek native originally gave his verbal commitment to Georgia last spring before ultimately flipping to Miami:

According to Rivals.com, Young be in Coral Gables on an official visit this weekend. He is a consensus 3-star prospect.

Two days after Young’s decision, Lake City wide receiver Latrell Williams picked the Canes. His decision came shortly after an official visit to Miami:

A former USF pledge, Williams caught 68 passes for 1,035 yards and and 10 touchdowns as a senior at Columbia High School this past fall. The 5-11, 171-pound wideout joined Miami’s 2016 group just over a week after Bulls wide receivers coach Ron Dugans left for the same position with the Hurricanes.
