Kaaya’s setback adds injury to insult for Canes

The University of Miami’s long day against Clemson started early.

Quarterback Malik Rosier replaced Brad Kaaya midway through the second quarter after Kaaya took a wicked hit while in the pocket from Tigers defensive end Shaq Lawson. Clemson rushed just one other player besides Lawson.

It didn’t look good when Miami’s medical staff talked to Kaaya as he came to the sideline, then team members surrounded him and shielded him from cameras by putting towels up. He didn’t pass the concussion protocol.
