Former Miami basketball star Julian Gamble made an in-studio appearance on The David Glenn Show on Wednesday to talk all things high school, college and professional basketball, and during the interview he discussed how one particular AAU tournament drastically affected his recruitment.
“I was a mid-major kid until I went down to Miami one weekend, played against a Top 50 guy, played against the number one power forward in the country and had 30 [points] and 15 [rebounds], and then I had 15 offers versus just three,” Gamble said. “You have to be good on one day.”
Gamble also talked about his experiences playing in France, whether or not he would play for a team owned by Donald Sterling and what it’s like when he visits his home state of North Carolina.
