Elder’s football decision works out for Canes

The University of Miami recruited Corn Elder with the agreement he could play basketball as well as football.

He knew at some point he’d have to make a decision on which sport to play. But he wanted the shot.

Elder’s decision to focus on football may have saved Miami from what could have been a devastating loss. His overtime interception stopped Nebraska on its first series and the Hurricanes went on to a 36-33 victory.[hr]
