Canes, Pack, Hokies well represented in Steele All ACC

Preseason football preview guru Phil Steele released his annual all conference teams, and the Hokies, Hurricanes and Wolfpack were well represented. Here’s a look at how those three squads were honored on the Steele All ACC squads.

Miami: The Canes had four players on the second team: Receiver Stacy Coley, linebackers Raphael Kirby and Jermaine Grace, as well as punter Justin Vogel. Miami had four third-teamers: RB Joseph Yearby, OL Daniel Isidora, DL Chad Thomas and DB Deon Bush. Two Canes made fourth team: QB Brad Kaaya and PR Braxton Berrios.

NC State: Five Pack players were honored by Phil Steele: RB Shadrach Thornton and OL Joe Thuney were named second-team All ACC. TE David Grinnage was third team, and LB Jerod Fernandez and DB Jack Tocho were fourth-teamers.

Virginia Tech: Ten Hokies landed on the Steele teams. Four Virginia Tech players were first-team All ACC: TE Bucky Hodges, DL Dadi Nicolas, DL Ken Ekanem and DB Kendall Fuller. Two were second-teamers: DL Corey Marshall and DB Brandon Facyson. Three were on the third team: WR Isaiah Ford, LB Deon Clarke and DB Chuck Clark. On the fourth team was OL Jonathan McLaughlin.
