Canes getting a good man, solid coach in Richt

Mark Richt is a home run hire for Miami on several levels. A seasoned longtime SEC head coach with ties to archrival Florida State, Richt is a Canes alumnus who will try to bring gridiron glory back to South Florida (AP image)

Everything about the Miami hire feels good in the early hours after news broke that Mark Richt would be leading the Hurricanes. The former Miami player has most any attribute a Canes fan could want, except a national championship. He’ll be looking to bring that to South Florida soon.
