Canes QBs Malik Rosier and Brad Kaaya are banged up but are cleared to play. Word came down a little over an hour before the start of Saturday’s matchup between Miami and Virginia.
Kaaya needed to pass concussion protocol before he can pass in a game. But after being cleared for practice last week, he apparently has been given the go-ahead to play on Saturday.
Rosier, who stayed overnight in North Carolina after Miami’s miraculous 30-27 win over Duke, should be ready to go as well in case Kaaya has any issues.
Rosier’s performance against the Blue Devils gives the Hurricanes confidence going into Saturday’s game against Virginia.
A win and Miami is bowl bound and still in the running for the ACC Coastal title.
Rosier’s complete turnaround after the Clemson debacle also will bode well for assistant James Coley.
A highly-regarded recruiter, Coley is known as a bit of a quarterback whisperer. If he isn’t retained by Miami’s new coach, he’ll find a job somewhere.
