In today’s era of college basketball, most of the game’s top players are bolting for the NBA as early as possible. Nine of the nation’s top 10 prospects from the 2014 recruiting class turned pro after just one season, and that’s a trend that won’t be changing in the forseeable future.
It’s no surprise any time a top recruit bases much of their college decision on which program is most likely to get them to the next level. Recent draft picks and NBA All-Stars are just a couple examples of recruiting pitches a school may use.
There’s also the financial side of it.
A player can make a lot of money playing in the NBA. So how do ACC schools rank when it comes to which program’s NBA players are making the most money during the 2015-16 season?

15. Florida State

Florida State has been mostly competitive — and sometimes great — in the ACC since Leonard Hamilton was hired in 2002, so it’s surprising the Seminoles have only one active player in the NBA. That’s the lowest total in the conference, but it’s worth noting that Toney Douglas has hung around and had a decent career at the next level. With the way Hamilton has been recruiting lately, FSU will likely have more players in the NBA sooner rather than later.
14. Virginia Tech

Of all programs in the ACC, Virginia Tech is the only one without a single player who will make $1,000,000 in the NBA this year. But hey, the Hokies currently have more players in the NBA than Florida State.
