What impresses Brownell the most about the HOF coaches he’s beating?

As Clemson continues its surge as one of the hottest teams in the country this January, Brad Brownell stopped by The David Glenn Show to discuss his team’s recent victories, what it’s like sharing an arena with a minor league hockey team this season and more.

This month, the Tigers have defeated three programs led by Hall of Fame coaches — Syracuse and Jim Boeheim, Louisville and Rick Pitino, and Duke and Mike Krzyzewski. During the conversation, the head man at Clemson touched on what it is about those coaches that he respects the most.

“I think the thing that is so remarkable as a young coach is to watch just the consistency of excellence,” Brownell said. “That’s what you’re unbelievably impressed with.

“I don’t know if when I’m 62 or 65 if I’ll still be wanting to do all this. These are tough jobs, and they take a lot of time, energy and effort.”
