Clemson picked up its fourth pledge in the last week on Monday when highly recruited tight end prospect Garrett Williams chose the Tigers. He is the first tight end to commit to Dabo Swinney’s 2015 class and the 15th player overall, not including grayshirts.
The commitment is a steal for Clemson, particularly because Williams had ties to another ACC school that was recruiting him hard. His father, Dayne, played football at Florida State in the ‘80s, and the Seminoles offered the younger Williams nearly 18 months ago.
The Orlando native is rated a 4-star recruit according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and many others also offered the 6-4, 220-pounder.
