Fans will get an early glimpse of the 2015-16 Clemson men’s basketball team, as the Tigers have added an exhibition against Lenoir-Rhyne on Thursday, November 5. The event will tip off at 7 p.m. in Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, home to Clemson men’s basketball this season. Admission is free for the exhibition.
“We’ve done a good job of marketing Clemson basketball, so there is certainly some excitement in the Greenville area,” said head coach Brad Brownell. “We need to play well early and build some enthusiasm for our team and feed off some of the momentum that has formed because of the excitement of us coming to Greenville.”
The Tigers return three starters and nine lettermen from 2014-15, a season that saw Clemson win 16 overall games, eight in the ACC regular season. Jaron Blossomgame returns as Clemson’s leading scorer (13.1 points per game), the first returning scoring leader for Brownell, who is entering his sixth season. Blossomgame also led the Tigers in rebounding (8.2 per game). Donte Grantham and Landry Nnoko are the other returning starters.
The regular season opens in Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Friday, November 13, as the Tigers host North Carolina Central at 7 p.m. The team’s first official practice is set for Saturday, October 3.
