After seeing two early departures during the month of April, Brad Brownell has reason to smile at the beginning of May. According to an ESPN report, San Francisco guard Avry Holmes has decided to transfer to Clemson.
As a sophomore for the Dons, Holmes averaged 12.5 points and 3.1 assists per game. Because of NCAA transfer rules, he’ll have to sit out his first year at Clemson but will have two years of eligibility remaining afterward.
Minutes in the Tigers backcourt should be available by the time Holmes is eligible to play. Rod Hall, who was Clemson’s starting point guard last season, is finishing his college career next year.
