The 2015 NFL draft featured six offensive players selected from the ACC, including the No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Jameis Winston. While some offensive weapons have graduated, most ACC teams will welcome back talented starters.
Pittsburgh makes a strong case to be the front-runner with the league’s top returning rusher, James Conner. The Panthers also bring back wide receiver Tyler Boyd, who is the only player in ACC history to compile 1,000 receiving yards in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Several other ACC teams return experienced quarterbacks who are expected to be key contributors this season. Brad Kaaya returns to Miami after bringing home ACC Rookie of the Year honors. North Carolina returns 3,000-yard passer Marquise Williams, while Jacoby Brissett will lead NC State’s high-powered offense.
Florida State welcomes Notre Dame transfer quarterback Everett Golson and brings back leading rusher Dalvin Cook, who looks to build on his strong freshman season. Clemson returns quarterback Deshaun Watson, running back Wayne Gallman and talented receivers Mike Williams and Artavis Scott.
Paul Johnson’s spread-option offense will always have Georgia Tech in the conversation. The Yellow Jackets are led by quarterback Justin Thomas as well as running backs Broderick Snoddy and Marcus Allen.
