Clemson’s top five senior targets

With 12 players committed to its 2016 class, Clemson’s coaching staff is unlikely to take many more pledges this cycle after welcoming a 25-man freshman class this season. That said, the Tigers are still courting a handful of senior prospects, with some highly touted recruits still on the board.

Here are Clemson’s top five remaining targets in the 2016 class:

5. WR Diondre Overton, 4-star

After picking up two fantastic receiver commitments — T.J. Chase of Bradenton, Florida, and Cornell Powell of Greenville, North Carolina — early in the 2016 cycle, Clemson will aim for the trifecta with Overton. The Tigers have been targeting Overton for a while and have remained in solid position with the Greensboro, North Carolina, wideout throughout the process.

According to multiple reports, the 6-5, 191-pound prospect is expected to be in Clemson this weekend for the Tigers’ nationally televised matchup against Notre Dame. A commitment from Overton would be just the latest example of Dabo Swinney’s staff sealing the deal with an elite-level receiver.
