Dabo Swinney snagged his third 2015 pledge in the last week on Wednesday when 4-star defensive end Clelin Ferrell committed to Clemson. The news was first reported by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Ferrell is the 18th recruit in his class to choose the Tigers, not including grayshirts.
With Ferrell heading to Clemson, Swinney now has two defensive end commitments in the 2015 class. As things stand now, the Richmond, Va., native projects to be one of eight scholarship defensive ends playing for the Tigers during his freshman year.
According to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings, Ferrell is rated the No. 88 overall rising senior in the country. He reportedly chose the Tigers over finalists South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and LSU.
