Fifth-year senior Eli Carter has arrived at Boston College in position to help the Eagles not only in terms of production, but also with leadership.
It’s been a very interesting collegiate journey for Carter, who enrolled at Rutgers out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire in 2011-2012, only to transfer to Florida prior to the 2013-2014 season. After a broken leg derailed his first season in Gainesville, Carter played in 28 games for the Gators last season before deciding to graduate and play as a fifth-year transfer for Boston College.
Over parts of four seasons at Rutgers and Florida — he received a medical redshirt in 2013-2014 after playing just 53 minutes in seven games — Carter averaged 11.5 points and 1.9 assists per game, shooting over 38 percent from the floor, and 32 percent from 3-point range.
Now, Carter is embracing a new role as starting point guard for the Eagles.
